Destination Engagement Session | Kate & Alejandro

FILED IN: Engagements

This wasn’t a destination engagement session for us. These two beautiful souls came all the way to Indiana to have their pictures taken with the beautiful fall colors as the back drop. And mother nature didn’t disappoint either! The colors were perfect, the lighting was perfect and the subjects, well you’ll see!

A little back story for this shoot. Kate is April’s second cousin who lives in Florida. When she was looking for her wedding & engagement photographer she was scouring Florida photographers. Then she recalled, her cousin is a photographer! To say we are honored that Kate & Alejandro chose us, all the way up here in Indiana, to tell their story is an understatement. We were beyond thrilled though when they asked us if they could fly here for their engagement session and then have us come to Florida in June to photograph their wedding at the amazing Pavilion at Mixon Farms. How could we so no to that, right!?

One thing that we got to learn about these two is that when Alejandro came here from Cuba he did not speak much English. So of course Kate helped him learn. And she’s a great teacher, his English is better than mine! But one of their favorite treats is soft serve ice cream. Alejandro learned he really liked his dipped in butterscotch. Well one day they went through the drive through and Alejandro was driving. He was feeling confident with his English and wanted to order for both of them. So when asked what they’d like he ordered a vanilla cone dipped in “butt scratch”. Kate couldn’t contain herself and laughed as the lady at the other end of the speaker wanted to clarify his order!

This is such a big part of their love story. We were humbled that they would share such an intimate moment of their lives with us!

Thank you guys for being so much fun, for being so humble and for allowing us to focus on your love for each other. This time together got us SO EXCITED to photograph your wedding next summer! We sure hope you guys enjoy your engagement photos as much as we enjoyed taking them – which is A LOT!Indianapolis engagement photographersEngagement session Indianapolis engagement shoot Engagement session Engaged couple laughing Engagement session on bridge Engagement session in Zionsville park Engagement session on bridge engagement photo session Indianapolis engagement photo session engagement photo sessionindianapolis engagement photo session engagement sessionengaged couple kissing engaged couple kissing on brick road engaged couple posing on brick road Indianapolis engagement photo session engagement sessionengaged couple on walk under fall colors engagement session engagement ring on the center of a sunflower
