Shelby & Ryan’s wedding at the gorgeous 1899 Indy wedding venue was definitely one for the ages. It was just a few days after the first day of spring, were the flowers blooming and the birds chirping? NO WAY!! This is Indiana. We had the biggest snow of freakin year! We’re talking almost a foot of snow for their wedding day. Did they let it put a damper on the days events? Heck no, not these guys. Shelby & Ryan are the most fun loving, happy go lucky, go with the flow couple that you have ever met. Not once did we hear either one of them complain about their wedding being in what basically became a blizzard. But we knew they would have fun no matter what.
That is one reason we are so in love with them. We knew from our initial visit that this was a wedding we HAD to shoot. When we initially sat down with them, Ryan was telling us about the plans they had for their wedding. He had us at Bruno Mars! No, Bruno Mars didn’t show up to perform, dang it! BUT, Shelby & Ryan did do research to find out how much it would cost to have him perform at their wedding! Now any couple that even thinks to look into having someone as big as Bruno perform at their wedding has our attention! Unfortunately it just wasn’t in their budget, but they still had an amazing DJ to play some of Bruno’s big hits!
We just can’t stop talking about this wedding though. I think everyday another little memory pops into our heads as we look back at these pictures. From it being so hot in the getting ready rooms, to the eight inches of snow on the ground. And yes, we actually did make Shelby & Ryan walk outside in that spring blizzard, and was it SO worth it! We had a little surprise for them that we still haven’t shown them though. Hidden in those snow pictures, far far off in the background, there’s a little (or big) message that we don’t think anyone really saw except for us so we didn’t tell. It was snowing so hard at that time though that no one could really see much anyway. But we managed to keep something from them up until now.
Shelby & Ryan, we truly loved capturing every moment of your special day. You guys have touched us and will forever hold a special place in our hearts. We’ve had so much from with you guys, from your engagement session on a freezing fall day all the way up to the last click of our camera on a freezing spring day. We wish you guys nothing but the best throughout your marriage and lives together. Now grab the tissues and lets relive your day together once again…
